Tinker Bell Half Meet Up

As I mentioned in a post last week, I was lucky enough to secure a slot at the runDisney Tinker Bell Half Marathon Meet Up event on Friday morning.  I shot out of bed at 4:45am, well before my alarm.  This was probably due to my excitement and the east coast to west coast time difference.  I made my way downstairs and to the meet up location where we all received our runDisney shirts.

Introductions were made by runDisney team member Bob Hitchcock.  Special guest introductions included Jeff Galloway, actor Sean Astin, Biggest Loser winner Ali Vincent, and runDisney nutritionist Tara Gidus.

We were told we would be using the Galloway run/walk method (30/30) for about two miles.  The 30/30 means thirty seconds of running followed by thirty seconds of walking.  Perfect for picture taking!

We started at the Sorcerer’s hat outside of the Disneyland Hotel and then made our way through Downtown Disney before entering Disneyland!  Since this was my first time to Disneyland, I tried to soak in as much of the sites around me as possible.  It was such a treat to be in the parks before they opened!  And seriously, running through the Sleeping Beauty’s castle was just magical.

After we ran through the castle, the first surprise was just up ahead in Pixie Hollow.
And you all know who lives there (right?)!
After meeting Tink, we continued on through Disneyland before our next surprise in California Adventure Park!
The next surprise was my absolute favorite part of the meet up – Meeting Minnie, Micky and Goofy!
Looking mighty dapper might I add…

And as we were running, my new friend, Valerie, informed me that California Adventure is home to one of the hottest Disney rides, Radiator Springs.  And would you know what our next surprise stop would be?  You guessed it! Talk about the ultimate fast pass!

After our amazing ride, it was time to head to the Napa Rose at the Grand Californian for a light breakfast, talks from the runDisney guests, and a delicious demonstration by Chef Christine Weissman.

Ali Vincent, the first female winner of The Biggest Loser! #LiveBig
Tara Gidus, the “Diet Diva” and runDisney Nutritionist
Chef Chrisine Weissman taught us how to make a delicious black bean chipotle cakes!
And after lots of fun giveaways including the runDisney sneakers and an entry into the Dumbo Double Dare, runDisney provided all attendees with a one-day park hopper pass!  Needless to say, this was a morning that I just did not want to end.  RunDisney hosted a fabulous get together and I am incredibly thankful for their generosity!
Note:  While some of the photos are personal photos, runDisney was kind enough to share additional photos from the event with the meet up participants.
