As I mentioned in a post last week, I was lucky enough to secure a slot at the runDisney Tinker Bell Half Marathon Meet Up event on Friday morning. I shot out of bed at 4:45am, well before my alarm. This was probably due to my excitement and the east coast to west coast time difference. I made my way downstairs and to the meet up location where we all received our runDisney shirts.
Introductions were made by runDisney team member Bob Hitchcock. Special guest introductions included Jeff Galloway, actor Sean Astin, Biggest Loser winner Ali Vincent, and runDisney nutritionist Tara Gidus.
We were told we would be using the Galloway run/walk method (30/30) for about two miles. The 30/30 means thirty seconds of running followed by thirty seconds of walking. Perfect for picture taking!
We started at the Sorcerer’s hat outside of the Disneyland Hotel and then made our way through Downtown Disney before entering Disneyland! Since this was my first time to Disneyland, I tried to soak in as much of the sites around me as possible. It was such a treat to be in the parks before they opened! And seriously, running through the Sleeping Beauty’s castle was just magical.
