When I posted about my evening run on Instagram last week, my followers were REALLY excited about the new Nite Ize Innovation SlapLit Bracelet.

Nite Ize Innovation

As Sheena pointed out, “This would be fabulous for #ragnarrelay.”  My thoughts EXACTLY!  I definitely plan on bringing my Nite Ize products with me to Hood to Coast.  And, now that  I am running on open roads more often, using Nite Ize is the perfect way to stay visible to traffic.  I love that you can have the SlapLit bracelet glow or flash, depending on your preferences and needs.  I also enjoyed that it is a slap bracelet!  Yes, this is the 80’s child in me reaching out.  But, the one thing that was bothersome was that it wrapped around my wrist twice.  I have small wrists and it would be great if this product came in different lengths.  On the other hand, this could be just what you need if you are running a relay race and want to share the bracelet among your teammates.  It will easily accommodate all wrist sizes.  Plus, as runners and bikers, you can also wear this on your upper arm or leg.

And Nite Ize, has vests too!  This is perfect for my Hood to Coast training.  I’m new to the whole relay thing so getting acquainted with a vest is something that has to happen.  I hate chaffing as much as the next person so having a great light weight vest that is comfortable is key.  The Nite Ize Sport Vest also has the ability to glow or flash.  I like that it illuminates on the front and back and has extra reflective bands on both sides as well.  Plus, with all these items, the battery life is 100,000 hours.  That’s a lot of hours.  And if for some reason your batteries run out, you can replace them through Nite Ize.

Nite Ize also wants to give you the chance to try out their products! One Lisa Runs for Cupcakes follower will have the chance to try the Nite Ize Marker Band.  The LED Marker Band is just like the SlapLit and Vest in that it has a glow or flash mode; however, this light comes on an adjustable band to use on your arm or leg on the run.  I imagine you can also use this on your bike.

  1. These are really cool products. I have a night run in November. Need to get these!!!

  2. I stay safe by running on a path instead of a road. If I run at night, it’s always in a well lit place with lots of other people are around.

I stay safe on my runs by taking my Lab pup along and have recently started using the RoadID App.

I try to run in well lit places if I have to run in the dark. I also wear bright clothes that have some sort of reflector on it.

  5. I have a Road ID. On long runs, I take my phone along. I run in populated areas whenever possible. I have a reflective vest for runs in the dark. And I let someone know I'm going and for how long.

  6. I make sure I run in lit areas and that someone knows where I am going!
