Marathon Training: Week #7

Marathon Training Week #7 felt much better than Week #6 but wanted to take it pretty easy with Hood to Coast happening next weekend!  Next week (Week #8) was supposed to be a cut-back week but I ended up swapping that to this week (Week #7) instead because of my race commitments.  All in all, I am happy with the week despite the extra rest.

Marathon TrainingMON:  REST

TUES:  2 Miles

WED:  30 Minutes Elliptical and Core

THURS:  6 Miles

FRI:  8 Miles

SAT & SUN:  Hanging out!

Most days also included yoga, foam rolling, and icing to make sure that I am ready to RUN next week!

Marathon Training

Total Miles:  16Hopefully with Hood to Coast one weekend followed by the Dumbo Challenge the following weekend, I will still be on target with my training.  The mileage will be there but the runs will not be “long”  since I will run three legs at Hood to Coast and a 10k followed by a Half at Dumbo.  We will see how it plays out but it will be sure to be a fun couple weekends! What is going on in your training these days!?  Who else is running Hood to Coast or the Dumbo Challenge??

  1. I've got 16 miles coming up this weekend. A bit nervous as it will be my longest run EVER. And thanks for turning me onto Team RWB!! I'm a veteran and learned about them from your blog! Thanks!! Good luck at Hood to Coast!

These long runs are intimidating! But, I have to keep reminding myself that I was also intimidated by 9, 10, 11 + mile runs when I starting running half marathons.

So excited that you were able to link up with Team RWB!! They are an amazing organization. Did you get your t-shirt yet? Every veteran gets to wear the eagle at no cost to them. And, thanks for your service!

  2. I did get my shirt and love it!!
