Marathon Training: Week 11

Okay, so if you follow this blog closely, you might have realized that there were no weekly training logs for Week 8, 9, or 10.  Hood to Coast hit and I will blame that for my lack of weekly marathon updates.  Don’t worry, I didn’t take three weeks off… I just had a very busy couple of weeks racing!

Week #8 of training included the epic Hood to Coast relay with Nuun Hydration.

Week #9 of training was spent running the Dumbo Double Dare.  I still haven’t had a chance to recap this back to back weekend of races including the Disneyland 10k and Half Marathon.  Trust me, the recaps are coming!

Week #10 of all the coast to coast to coast to coast travel caught up with me big time.  I decided to make it a cut back week but I did manage to set a new PR at the Norwalk 9/11 Heroes Run.

Week 11

MON:  Rest

TUES:  30 Minutes Elliptical and Core

WED:  5 EASY Miles

THURS:  3 EASY Miles

FRI: Rest

SAT: 13.1 Miles at the Gulf Beach Half Marathon & a really BIG PR!  This course was advertised as flat and fast and I knocked off seven minutes from my last half marathon personal record.  (01:50:15)

SUN: Rest

Total Miles:  21

  4. Wow! Congrats on your PR, that is Awesome!!! I ran the DIVA VA Wine Country Half Marathon this weekend and was hoping for a PR myself, but the course totally squashed that dream. Don't get me started on that race, will never run it again. I'm training for MCM right now! Only 40 days left! AHHH!
