Keen: For the Love of Socks!

I swear, I will try every sock that exists on this planet.  At least is seems as though I am on a perpetual hunt for the best socks out there.  Recently, I was provided with two pairs of socks from Keen.  As a proclaimed wool sock lover, these socks made my feet really, really happy.  Plus, I like to support companies that make their products in the United States.  These Keen Merino Wool socks are made right in North Carolina!  Also, Keen socks have a left sock and right sock fit.  Let’s just say that you definitely know if you made a mistake when you are blindly getting dressed in the dark!

The first pair of socks that I selected to try are the purple Hyperlite No-Show.  What can I say, these performance socks match my Team Tough Chik gear perfectly!  After a month of throwing the Hyperlites into my long run rotation, I have to say that I have not had any issues with blisters or hot spots.  This is probably since the seams are conveniently located underneath the toes.  Plus, they are a nice weight and very comfortable.  Since they are no-show socks, they are low and don’t work with some of my sneakers but that is my only issue with them.  And, that problem can easily be remedied by purchasing a different height next time!

I tested out the Hyperlite No-Shows with my Brooks.

The second pair of socks that I tested were the Dotty Ultralight Knee High Socks.  I have to say that I was shocked at how much I love these socks.  The Dotties are not a performance sock but I they are perfect for winter weather here in NY.  I wear them with my calf height boots to work.  The biggest thing is that they don’t slide at all.  With knee high socks this can sometimes be an issue but the Dotties stay put once they are on your feet.  So comfortable!

Perfect for lounging by the Christmas tree!

All in all, I was really pleased with the performance and everyday socks that Keen has to offer.  I plan to purchase a few different heights and styles in the future.

Have you ever tried Keen’s socks?  What are you thoughts?  Hands down, who is your go to sock supplier?

PS. You know you are a mom when the title ‘For the Love of Socks’ is inspired by the Backyardigans.  Sigh.

  1. My friend was wearing socks with a "L" and "R" on them the other day and I was blown away. Who knew that it mattered 😉 My favorite socks are actually these random ones my parents brought home from Maine. Not only do they have puffins, but they are the most comfortable socks I have ever put on.

  3. I love fun knee socks when I run. I usually wear a pair of "running socks" under them so I don't get blisters and it helps keep my feet warm! I will have to check these out.

    • That's a great idea for incorporating fun socks but still making sure that your feet are protected! I might steal this idea in the future, especially for races in costume.

  4. I have some Keen shoes that I like, but I haven't tried their socks before. I like the idea of a foot specific sock with the L&R. Cool!
