Skechers GORun 3 in Support of Breast Cancer Awareness

Disclosure:  Many thanks to Sketchers for sponsoring today’s discussion and allowing me to try their fantastic Skechers breast cancer awareness shoes!  As always, all opinions are my own and in support of the fight against breast cancer.

This October, I am lucky enough to put one foot in front of the other as I test out the Skechers GoRun 3 shoes and get moving in support of breast cancer awareness month.  As some of you may know, marathon training has come to a halt for me.  Being injured is certainly never fun, especially with the beautiful fall weather we are having here in New York.  Yet, after taking a few weeks off from running, I know that it is even more important for me to lace up, go for walks, hit the gym and continue to maintain my active lifestyle.  In addition to setting an active example for my daughter, I have also come to understand how staying active is directly related to staying mentally fit.  If I want to be able to put my best self forward and continue to be energized at work and at home, I need to keep moving.  So, this month, it is especially inspiring to get moving for those affected by breast cancer. It has given me perspective on being injured and sidelined from marathon training.  Thanks to Skechers, I’m reminded that injuries will come and go but I am very thankful to have my health.

Skechers GoRun

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how much my feet have enjoyed these shoes! I will admit that I haven’t run in them yet since I am still not recovered. But, walking in them has been awesome. I can’t wait for my leg to be well enough to take them out for a true test run! Since they are a 4mm drop like my current shoes, I hope that there won’t be much of a transition. Plus, the toe box of the Skechers GORun 3 provides tons of space and that makes my feet very happy.  Plus, there is plenty of cushion despite being a more minimal feel.

  1. Staying active is definitely the key to staying mentally & physically fit. I reviewed the walking shoes and love them for post run recovery. They are so comfortable. Nice post

  2. Running injuries are never fun ( feeling it myself right now), but these shoes make it easier to do a little low impact workouts. Love your pics!

  3. I’m sorry that you’re fighting an injury. It is so hard for runners not to run! Love the shoes and the company’s mission.
