Winter Wellness with GNC PUREDGE

As I mentioned in last week’s post, I am definitely struggling to steer clear of sweets this holiday season.  Couple that with the bubbly, mimosas, and wine at just about every holiday get together and I will admit that healthy eating (and drinking!) is not exactly happening right now.  Why is that when you need to maintain your energy levels the most, that you struggle the most?  Between the normal grind of work, trying to workout, and the addition of wrapping Christmas presents and sending out holiday cards, there just aren’t enough hours in the day and I find myself exhausted!

One way that I have recently tried to end the holiday exhaustion and get back in the swing of things is by incorporating a shake into my morning or afternoon routine.  As stated by GNC PUREDGE, their complete protein powder formula, “Supports vital, core body systems responsible for maintaining muscle health, while supplying daily nutritional needs and functional antioxidant protection.  The whole-food-based, 20g protein blend provides one full serving of fruits and vegetables to help meet daily nutritional requirements. Delivers over 5g of amino acids including the branched chain amino acids (BCAA) leucine, isoleucine and valine, essential for protecting, repairing and fueling muscle.”  As someone who has shopped around plenty for viable chocolate shakes, I really like the taste of this one!  Coming from me, that honestly says A LOT!  Do yourself a favor and go check out GNC PUREDGE!

Another way, I try to prevent the afternoon slump is by having the Daily Energy {Found here!} since it provides carbohydrates and a bit of immediate on the go energy from herbal teas, fruit and vegetable extracts.  It’s also perfect for me to have in the afternoons since I typically get to run as soon as I leave work!

My other preferred afternoon snack is a complete protein bar {Found here!}.  This fills me up enough to propel me through the end of my workday, fit in a run and make it home to prep for the night ahead.  These whole-food-based bars with flax and chia provide 20g of protein, 15g fiber, 6g net carbs and 4g of sugar.  These bars have no preservatives; no wheat, yeast, fish or egg; no sugar alcohols, and no artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners and are available in Banana Nut Bread and Peanut Butter Cookie Dough flavors.  They are perfect if you are in need of a grab and go snack to power you through the afternoon!

So far, with these few changes thanks to GNC PUREDGE, I’m feeling a little bit better about my over-indulgence this holiday season.  And, I’ll share my favorite quick and easy shake that I often make if I want to curb my sweet tooth!
