If you are a long-time reader of this blog, you probably know that I am a big supporter of compression for recovery.  I am also a fan of supporting small businesses that are making products right here in the good old USA.  So, when I received the opportunity to test out a pair of compression socks from the Maryland based company, Lily Trotters, I was really interested to see how they would fare compared to some of the other compression products that I use on a regular basis.

Lily Trotters Compression Socks

First off, I love the look of these socks.  The frilly detail at the top of the socks is one aspect that sets these socks apart from competitors.  As someone who likes to sneak in wearing compression to work, I quickly found myself wondering how some of the other patterns and colors of Lily Trotters would look with knee-high boots for the fall.  The answer is, I think that they are the perfect compression sock to wear to work!  Plus, the sock is thin enough to wear with something other than my running shoes.  And, I imagine that they are loved by women that have to stand on their feet at work all day.  Lily Trotters states that they are all about fashion + fitness and I can certainly see why.  Here are a few notes straight from the source:

Fashion + Fitness = The Lily Trotters Difference
–       Feminine and sassy designs knit right into the socks
–       High performance, built strong enough to run marathons
–       100% micro nylon weave in beautiful custom colors and designs
–       Comfortable to wear for many hours
–       Thin enough to fit inside any style of shoe
–       15-20 mmHg graduated compression
–       USA tested high-performance gradient compression
–       Cushioned heels and reinforced toes
–       Moisture wicking and antimicrobial
–       100% sourced and made in the USA

With marathon training season gearing up, these socks are one of the tools I plan to use to keep my legs feeling fresh during this training cycle.  So, if you are curious about these socks and want to get a pair on your happy feet, be sure to support the kickoff of Lily Trotter’s Kickstarter campaign tomorrow, July 14 at 11:30 am EST.  Lily Trotters needs your support with Kickstarter to fund the launch of the first manufacturing run of Lily Trotters plus you will receive pre-order savings!

  38. I LOVE compression!!! I don’t do any runs over 10 miles without compression socks. I fly everywhere with compression socks.
