The Convertible HDL and a PRracer Giveaway!

I’m excited to bring you a sneak peek at a brand new product that is hoping to hit your streets soon!  Here’s the thing, PRracer needs your help to get this idea off the ground.  Today, PRracer is launching a Kickstarter campaign to raise money to back this genius idea… Okay, okay, I’m getting ahead of myself.  First, I need to tell you about PRracer’s Convertible HDL!

As someone that loves running relay races and trail running, I thought the Convertible HDL sounds amazing!  The Convertible HDL is an innovative skull cap and headband combo that helps you run smarter. In warmer weather, it can be worn top down {as pictured above} with the cap neatly tucked away as a sweat wicking headband.  And, when the weather gets cooler, you can simply pull it up and over for extra warmth.  A pretty nice two-in-one combination for all seasons.  Plus, given that most headlamps are not the most comfortable things in the world, and that I typically wear them on top of a hat in order to keep it from digging into my head, I think the headband idea is pretty awesome.

The Convertible is also designed to support smart wearable devices like a headlamp and camera.  The Convertible HDL offers a very powerful headlamp with over 400 lumens that can be customized by the runner to their environment. Using the mobile app, you can also customize the illumination to ensure you don’t run out of battery (and light) while on your run. The rechargeable lithium ion batteries will provide up to twelve hours of illumination on a full charge.  That’s pretty solid for an overnight relay adventure or those morning runs on the trails!

The creator of the Convertible HDL decided runners needed a better way to share their running experiences. Instead of just telling family, friends, and their running group about an awesome run, they  needed a way to share their runs visually like never before.  As a blogger, I LOVE this idea!  I mean, we like to share ALL the runs!  Thankfully, PRracer designed an action camera with the headlamp into a single module. This unit also includes a GPS, altimeter and accelerometer so the stats runners love (run time, pace, distance, elevation change) can be displayed right on the video! How amazing is that!  Also, with the headlamp, runners can even capture fantastic footage in low-light situations.  It just keeps getting better, am I right?  And, lastly, the Convertible HDL mobile app allows easy editing of pictures and video as well as quick adjustment of the settings for both the headlamp and camera.  As someone that has run all three of their legs of Ragnar during designated “night hours,” this would be absolutely perfect.  Not only would you have your headlamp but you have the ability to record all the crazy things that happen during a Ragnar!

Oh, and the best part of all?   Runners don’t have to fumble with buttons!  These features are all enabled via voice recognition!  “Camera. On”, “Camera. Picture”, “Camera. Video” and “Light. Hi”, “Light. Medium”, and “Light. Low” are just a few of the voice commands runners can use without having to break their stride.  Talk about perfect for those cold runs when you are wearing gloves or when you need to change the lighting from high to low without fidgeting with buttons.
