As a runner, I have a wee bit of an obsession with compression socks. Yet, for some reason and despite my interest in compression, I never bit the bullet on purchasing a pair of compression pants or capris. So, when I received the opportunity to test out a pair of SKINS DNAmic Gradient Compression thanks to my affiliation with Fit Approach, I was all in! The women’s DNAmic Compression line offers athletes quite a few fun, bold designs and the Dynamic Gradient Compression helps performance and assists in speeding up the recovery process.

As mentioned on their website, the benefits and features of the DNAmic long tights are many:

“If there’s one pair of tights you need in your workout wardrobe this season it’s the DNAmic long tights. Combining the best in style with the best in our compression tech, the SKINS DNAmic long tights will keep you comfy and supported through the highest intensity training sessions. Give yourself a performance boost in the DNAmic long tights. They’ll carry you through from warm-up to cool-down and onwards to your post workout brunch date.” –SKINS

For those of you that are wondering why SKINS is different from other compression gear, they continue to spend quite a bit of time researching and developing their products. The research they conduct allows their company to continue to push the envelope and develop amazing gear.  Some of the key research findings on SKINS Compression are that it:
• increases venous return
• reduces exercise induced muscle damage (EIMD)
• accelerates recovery processes
• removes lactic acid faster
• increases strength and power
• improves endurance
• increases muscle oxygenation
• improves body temperature control
• reduces in-flight ankle oedema

Feel free to visit their website for more in depth information on the science behind their products. After testing out the SKINS DNAmic long tights, I think I will be incorporating more compression tights and capris into my running rotation. I enjoyed the feel of these tights; the moisture wicking quality of these tights keeps you comfortable and dry. The fit of these pants is also snug and designed to keep you from chaffing. I highly recommend using their fitting guide on their website. SKINS unique sizing system is based on our unique Body Mass Index (BMI)/anthropometrical algorithm, because you only get the full benefits of gradient compression if the SKINS fits you properly. Plus, you don’t want them to slide around and cause chaffing! Lastly, I really like that SKINS products offer 50+ UV Protection, including their line of tops!

I’m like you, I have an obsession with compression socks but never ventured into the compression clothing arena. It looks SKINS have a couple of really cute items (like those tights). I kinda want to try the tights or the superpose shorts out. I’m always scared of patterns on my legs though (they always seem to make my thighs look way bigger).

  3. Love over the calf compression socks, the Skins a400 long tights would be great to try for running trails

  4. I have yet to hop on the compression train mostly b/c of the cost, but would be so freaking cool to try them out!

  5. Love these pants!!!!
