I can’t believe it is mid-October! Where does time go these days?
Work consumed most of September since I had a few major events. So, when October rolled around, it was a natural step back from weekend work and add more play! Although, I will fully admit that I am so exhausted by all the travel.
First up, California! We traveled to Newport Beach for a wedding. Cora was the ever adorable flower girl!
And, since we were so close to Anaheim, and the time change did us no favors, one day we snuck in a little bit of time at Disneyland! Sometimes impulsive moves end up being the most fun – no time to plan or worry – just enjoy and have fun!
After the long holiday weekend, we were back to work. And, then decided to drive to Texas for the Texas State Fair in Dallas. 8 hours in a car four days after returning from California is a fairly insane idea. Yet, the plans were laid out months ago and I forgot to actually map how long it would take to get from Kansas to Dallas until lunchtime at work on Friday. Genius move Lisa. Yet, totally worth it to spend a day with some of my best friends from graduate school. It’s hard to make time to see one another and I really needed it!
Now, it’s back to work and NO TRAVEL until Thanksgiving. That gives us a few weeks to stay put, enjoy more of what Kansas has to offer (because Kansas is surprisingly beautiful!), and host a few guests over Veteran’s Day weekend.
With less travel, I have grand goals of getting my act together in the running department! More details on my upcoming race calendar soon!! Oh, and yet again, intentions of revving up the blog are happening.
The Grow Your Blog Hop with the Runaway Bridal Planner starts this week. I participated in past hops and loved getting to know new bloggers. A little accountability goes a long way for me so I figured I would sign up so that I would start blogging again!
How do you find momentum in running or blogging? What’s new in your neck of the woods?
Lisa
Looks like a fun week! I also love the motivation and momentum that come from building a network of other bloggers and following along with their inspiring work as well! Glad to get to know your blog through the Healthy Grow Your Blog Hop!
I’ve had highs and lows in this whole blogging thing. I suppose it is just a natural lull after moving to Kansas and starting a new job. Now that we are a few months in, I feel ready to do a little more blogging! Looking forward to connecting with you throughout the Blog Hop and beyond!

Beautiful photos! It sounds like a lot of travel but that it was worth it 🙂 If I’m trying to rev my motivation up for something I try to change it up and find something new to be excited about again. So when it comes to running, things like running in a new location, a new playlist, with new people, etc.

Good advice! I think with these cooler temperatures, I need to start exploring more of Kansas since we just moved here a few months ago!

Kansas definitely looks pretty!!! Agree – the last minute plans are always the best plans…Glad to have gotten to your site through the blog hop. It’s my first hop and I have a baby blog. It feels so humbling to visit other blogs and read about people’s accomplishments!
I love connecting with new blogs! Heading on over to yours now!

Hey ya, fellow Skirt sister! I too love doing the blog hop, so much fun getting to know other bloggers! Sounds like you had a great time with the wedding, Disneyland and all. Sometimes, you’ve got to step away and embrace real life more!

SO true! Blogging and running aren’t my full-time job and I need to remind myself that it is okay to step back sometimes. It is something I love to do though – it’s just tricky to accept that there are seasons to my blogging journey! Hopefully the hop helps me buckle down!

So fun! Looks like you had a great time in both CA and TX. Worth the travel I’m sure and Cora looked beautiful 🙂

Cora had a blast! It was fun but I will admit that I need a few weeks of quiet time. Focus on family, running, and maybe a little blogging action if I am feeling crazy! 😉

So glad to hear that you all had a great time out in California. So how special that you were able to surprise Cora with a day at Disneyland. I loved all of the pics that you shared on IG during your time there.

Such a great picture of you and your family at the wedding! Sounds like you guys have been so busy this month but at least you snuck in some Disneyland 🙂 I’m just getting back into blogging myself so I’m hoping this blog hop helps me gain that much needed momentum.
Yes! It was a fun but exhausting weekend. I’m looking forward to staying put for a few weekends!
