How is it already February 2017? Mid-February at that! I swear, it is getting harder and harder to carve out space to sit down and write out my thoughts on my blog these days. Don’t get me wrong. Life is full. Full of wonderful things like digging into a training plan {finally!}, spending time with family and friends, and spending lots of time at my wonderfully fulfilling and equally exhausting job. Yet, life is also full of uncertainty. I feel {Read More}
Goodbye 2016
It’s hard to believe that the year is coming to a close. Yet, I’m happy to say goodbye 2016. This year was filled with the loss of a loved one that impacted me in more ways that I would like to admit. And, our family moved to Kansas to take on new jobs. This led to the other significant loss of leaving behind our home in West Point and the family and friends nearby. Yet, with loss, comes new experiences. As {Read More}
October 2016 Update
I can’t believe it is mid-October! Where does time go these days? Work consumed most of September since I had a few major events. So, when October rolled around, it was a natural step back from weekend work and add more play! Although, I will fully admit that I am so exhausted by all the travel. First up, California! We traveled to Newport Beach for a wedding. Cora was the ever adorable flower girl! And, since we were so close {Read More}
Blogging? Running? Where this space stands.
Once upon a time, I ran a blog on a regular basis. Yep, all kidding aside, this move to Kansas has kicked me in the pants in more ways that I probably would like to admit. First off, blogging has certainly taken a back seat. I thought about stopping the blog and social media but it is really hard for me to step away from it completely. I really am still amazed by how many amazing people I have connected {Read More}
Change is the Only Constant: Summer Update
Summer is vanishing before my eyes. Back in April, I shared a bit about my upcoming plans in this post here. How is it that all of that is already behind me? It is absolutely incredible to think that I am closing in on my third month of living in Kansas. I haven’t been very active on my blog or on social media because LIFE HAPPENS folks. Here’s a quick rundown of the craziness of the past three months. I {Read More}
Where did Lisa go?
Sometimes it is difficult to be 100% transparent on social media. Maybe some of you thought, “Where did Lisa go?”. Yet, whether or not my followers noticed, over the course of 2015 and into 2016, I decided to dial back my social media presence. Don’t get me wrong, I have met some fantastic friends through social media and people who I now know I can depend on even when I’m off the internet. Yet, with blogging I struggled to find {Read More}
New Year + Holiday Ramblings
Happy New Year! I fell off the face of the planet. Well, that is a bit of an exaggeration but if you are a blogger, not posting for a month is practically disappearing into the night in the blogging world. Yet, if you follow me on other social media platforms, you probably knew that I didn’t really disappear for good. I just tend to have a difficult time keeping this particular piece of social media up to date with {Read More}
2015 Running Goals Update
Today, I’m linking up with Erika, Patty, and April for their weekly link-up called Tuesdays on the Run. Typically, I love this type of post. It’s always fun to look back and see how far you have come and all the progress you are making towards your goals…. EXCEPT when there really isn’t any progress. I truly feel like a broken record and a negative Nancy when I look at the running goals I set for myself this year. Last fall, {Read More}
Friday Five: Looking Back a Decade
Today, I’m linking up with the Friday Five crew, Mar, Cynthia, and Courtney for a post that takes you and shares what I was up to ten years ago. Looking back a decade sounded like too much fun to pass up and a great opportunity to reminisce…. It’s honestly so hard to believe how much has changed in those ten years of life. I graduated from college in Rhode Island, worked as a paralegal until I moved across the country from Connecticut {Read More}
Thinking Out Loud: Nope, I didn’t quit my blog.
Nope, I didn’t quit my blog. As some of my close blogging friends know, I have considered shutting down my blog a time or two. Yet, for one reason or another, I always end up coming back and posting on my slice of the Internet. Over time, my reasons for blogging have changed and my interest in maintaining my website certainly ebbs and flows. I love sharing race recaps, connecting with teammates around the globe and maintaining friendships with other {Read More}
