Life Update and Training for the Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon

Have you ever had to start over?  A few months ago, while talking with my good buddy Mar, I decided that I needed to hit reset on running.  With that in mind, training for the Publix Savannah Women’s Half Marathon quickly became the target on the calendar.  But, I needed to face the reality of pressing the reset button.  Since moving to Georgia, I haven’t found a regular running routine. And, that is in part because military moves are really, {Read More}

Moving: Georgia On My Mind

Well, I feel as though, I just wrote a post about moving and settling into a new location.  Oh wait, I did!  Just last summer, we relocated from New York to Kansas.  And, this summer we moved from Kansas to GEORGIA!  In good news, we should be a here for a few years.  But, then again, with the military, you can never be too certain how long you will stay in any location. So, just like last year, I present {Read More}

Motherhood and Finding Balance

When I think about motherhood, for me, it is all about balance. For those of you that are new to my page, I like to juggle a lot. My plate, like yours, is full. I’m a mom to a vibrant 6 year-old and married to an active duty service member. Let’s just say that we move around the country quite a bit….too often for my taste. And, I also have a wonderful social work career serving the military families in {Read More}

Find your Summer Confidence with Speedo

Disclosure:  Today’s post is a sponsored conversation by Speedo USA.  I received Speedo products as compensation.  All opinions regarding the Speedo swimsuits are my own. In 2010, I founded this blog as a space to talk about my postpartum journey and rekindled love of running.  And, as I worked harder and harder on my running, I realized that my core was still incredibly weak and things were not going back to the way they were pre-pregnancy.  Long story short, I ended up finding {Read More}

February 2017 Update

How is it already February 2017?  Mid-February at that!  I swear, it is getting harder and harder to carve out space to sit down and write out my thoughts on my blog these days.  Don’t get me wrong.  Life is full.  Full of wonderful things like digging into a training plan {finally!}, spending time with family and friends, and spending lots of time at my wonderfully fulfilling and equally exhausting job. Yet, life is also full of uncertainty.  I feel {Read More}

The Magic of Running with My Daughter!

Apple picking and hayrides, visiting the Metropolitan Museum, or snagging a picture with a princess at Disney surely bring smiles to the face of a child. Yet, one of the most wonderful ways I get to see my daughter smile, the big, goofy, toothless, ear to ear smile, is while running. Part of me always hoped that she would have an interest in running together. Yet, I never expected it to start so soon. I Love Running with My Daughter! Back in {Read More}

How to Plan Your Race Calendar: The 5 W’s and a Peek into 2017

As in life, there are seasons to running and racing. In 2016, running took a back seat as I only participated in two races. For me, that is an incredibly low number, especially compared to my #runalltheraces years of 2012 and 2013! Since I am now feeling pretty settled in Kansas, I figured it was high time to start planning my 2017 race calendar. Moving to a new area makes planning a race schedule a little tricky with all of {Read More}

October 2016 Update

I can’t believe it is mid-October!  Where does time go these days? Work consumed most of September since I had a few major events.  So, when October rolled around, it was a natural step back from weekend work and add more play!  Although, I will fully admit that I am so exhausted by all the travel. First up, California!  We traveled to Newport Beach for a wedding.  Cora was the ever adorable flower girl!  And, since we were so close {Read More}

Blogging? Running? Where this space stands.

Once upon a time, I ran a blog on a regular basis.  Yep, all kidding aside, this move to Kansas has kicked me in the pants in more ways that I probably would like to admit. First off, blogging has certainly taken a back seat.  I thought about stopping the blog and social media but it is really hard for me to step away from it completely.  I really am still amazed by how many amazing people I have connected {Read More}
