ZOOMA Annapolis is back on my race calendar for 2013! I am so excited to announce that I will be running the race as a ZOOMA Annapolis ambassador! Last year, my experience at ZOOMA Annapolis was so positive. I had a blast participating in the weekend’s events – from the expo and listening to the talk provided by Another Mother Runner‘s Dimity McDowell and Sarah Bowen Shea to the barefoot wine after party at the finish line. And listening to the stories of other {Read More}
Race Recap: ZOOMA Half Marathon June 2, 2012
After a bit of a heat wave, the tornado-like weather brought about the perfect race conditions for Saturday morning. The temperature started off in the 60s with a breeze off the water with sun filled skies by mid race. My friend Niki and I arrived at the start a little bit behind schedule. I decided to wait in line for the toilets while she went to the bag check. I am so glad I made the pit stop but man {Read More}
ZOOMA Swag
Lots of cute swag from the lovely folks at ZOOMA! It started off with the ZOOMA Annapolis black technical t-shirt and the over the shoulder gear check bag. This is the first time I have seen this design for a gear check bag; it is kind of a nice change from the drawstring backpack thing (you know what I’m talking about right? LOL). And thank you for having a women’s fit t-shirt with a v-neck! And even though I love medals, {Read More}
ZOOMA Expo and a Fun Friday!
So I lied about you not hearing from me until after the race… I figured you might want to know about our day and the expo! Today, Jake and I drove to Annapolis to hang out before the Expo. We walked around a bit with Cora and had lunch at Chick and Ruths, an underwhelming experience there but at least it was a good crab cake. Cora enjoyed sporting her new shades EVERYWHERE (inside and outside). Then we headed to the {Read More}
T-Minus 12 Hours
I have been all over the board trying to decide whether or not to run the ZOOMA half marathon, as I originally planned, or downgrade my half to a 10k. May was a really tough month for me to train. I still ran but I won’t exactly say that I trained hard and regularly. I fit it in where I could and some weeks were better than others. That being said, I am still in better shape today than I was {Read More}
Wednesday’s Run – May 30, 2012
Got out early (for me) this morning. It was still HUMID! I guess I just need to suck it up and get used to this Maryland weather already. From living in the northeast until my twenties and then heading to Texas, I just can not get used to this feeling of having sweat popping up for no reason other than standing outside. Anyway, I went for a short easy run because I have ZOOMA Annapolis this weekend! I was {Read More}
Volunteering with ZOOMA Annapolis
Tomorrow I will be volunteering with ZOOMA ANNAPOLIS at the Athleta Iron Girl Half Marathon and Coed 5k Race Expo at the Columbia Sheraton Town Center Hotel in Columbia, Maryland. Come stop by the ZOOMA booth, sign up for the race and say hello! I will be there from 10:00am until 2:00pm. Courtesy of ZOOMA And while I will pretend that you are there to see me, you can hear Olympic Gold Medalist, Joan Benoit Samuelson talk and sign autographs from 3:00 – 4:00pm. {Read More}
