This is the running happy face you hope to achieve at all races, right? Well, today, I’m linking up with the DC Trifecta to run down memory lane with my 5 favorite race memories. Thanks for hosting Cynthia, Mar and Courtney! 1.) My first half marathon was so tough, yet so rewarding. After having Cora, I fell back into my running groove thanks to my friend Caitlin. After running a 10k together, we decided we could tackle a half… and {Read More}
Review: PRO Compression #keepittight
Disclosure: As a member of the Fit Approach community, I received one pair of black PRO Compression marathon socks in exchange for review. All thoughts and opinions regarding PRO Compression are my own. Does it seem like I focus on a lot of compression products? Well, yes… yes, I do! And, I like to think that I focus on compression products for good reason. I find that compression is one of the key pieces of recovery and keeping me in one piece. Right now, {Read More}
How was your year of running?
Every year Miss Zippy poses the question, how was your year of running? Today, I am joining the link up to share my favorite parts of 2013. Best race experience? 2013 was a really special year of running for me. I completed my first marathon and took ten minutes off my half marathon PR but my BEST race experience was Hood to Coast. Running with Team Lemonade for Nuun Hydration was one of those once in a lifetime experiences that {Read More}
Hood to Coast: Team Nuun’s Seaside Celebration
The 198 mile Hood to Coast adventure ends in Seaside, Oregon. Since I ran with Van 1, we had a little bit of time to rest and relax before meeting our Van 2 runners at the finish line. We took advantage of the opportunity to shower before making out way down to the shore for some much needed food and beer. Then it was off to the shoreline to dip our toes in the chilly water before we made our {Read More}

Leg #3- 3.93 Miles/Easy Rating – HTC Predicted Finishing Time: 30:27 (7:44/mile) Actual Finishing Time: 29:11 (7:22/mile) I heard rumors that Leg #3 was {Read More}
Greetings From Mount Hood
Van #1 for Nuun’s Team Lemonade had the privilege of driving to the starting line of Hood to Coast and taking in the incredible views from Mount Hood. Since this was my first trip to the Pacific Northwest, I was in awe of the scenery. We made it to the top with just about an hour to spare so we didn’t have too much time to goof off. Nuun tattoos, Sparkle Skirts, obligatory photos with Mount Hood… check, check, and {Read More}
Dear Nuun,
I just wanted to openly thank you for the opportunity to run Hood to Coast. But, I have to admit, that saying thank you just doesn’t seem to be enough. When I applied to run Hood to Coast with Nuun, I knew the race itself was going to be an awesome adventure. What I didn’t realize was the amount of growth that can occur during a short weekend away from the daily grind. I am so incredibly thankful for the {Read More}
Marathon Training: Week #7
Marathon Training Week #7 felt much better than Week #6 but wanted to take it pretty easy with Hood to Coast happening next weekend! Next week (Week #8) was supposed to be a cut-back week but I ended up swapping that to this week (Week #7) instead because of my race commitments. All in all, I am happy with the week despite the extra rest. MON: REST TUES: 2 Miles WED: 30 Minutes Elliptical and Core THURS: 6 Miles FRI: {Read More}
