Why YOU should run a 2017 ZOOMA race!

The ZOOMA Women’s Race series is one of the very first races that took me on as an ambassador in 2012.  It’s pretty hard to believe that this blog is quickly approaching its 5th birthday!  And, ZOOMA Annapolis is approaching it’s 10th birthday!  So far, I participated in the ZOOMA Annapolis Half marathon three times and the 10k for the first time this past June.  Since I didn’t recap my 2016 race, I thought I would share why I believe it’s {Read More}

2016 Summer Update!

Oh my word, I almost forgot how to write a blog post.  I can’t believe it’s almost the end of June.  This past month has been a whirlwind.  To rewind a bit, here is a post I wrote pre-move about my thoughts.  So, let’s catch you up with a little summer update! Back in May, I flew out to Kansas to start my new job.  After working in Kansas for a week, I flew home for two weeks of vacation.  Not exactly {Read More}

Change is the only constant.

Currently, I’m trying to convince myself that we all grow through change. I’m trying to embrace change even though I hate it. You see, I am about three weeks out from moving half way across the country again. Yes, again. Yet, this time, I am moving half way across the country ahead of my husband and daughter by several weeks.  And, this big life change is coming at me like a freight train. To back this bus up, since I {Read More}

Race Recap: ZOOMA Annapolis 2014

ZOOMA Annapolis 2014 is officially in the books! Jake and I had the rare opportunity to head down to Annapolis solo!  We arrived at the host hotel, the Loews Annapolis Hotel, with plenty of time to check in and relax before heading to the race expo. What a nice touch on the custom ZOOMA room key!  Well done Loews! The expo had quite a few vendors as well as all of the race sponsors.  And, I  really happy to catch {Read More}

Race Recap: 2014 West Point 5k

Last weekend, I made a last-minute decision to run the West Point 5k.  Despite having this race on my calendar for a few months, I procrastinated on signing up for the event.  There were a few reasons for my lack of enthusiasm: 1.)  West Point is definitely the hilliest place I have lived and while training on hills makes me faster for those flat races, those hills aren’t so helpful during a race.  I knew it would be really difficult for me to churn {Read More}

ZOOMA Annapolis Kick Off Events!

This weekend, ZOOMA Annapolis is offering a kick off training event hosted by Charm City Run. If you want to meet some of my fellow race ambassadors, get to know some runners in the area, or just go for the mimosas, do it! Last year I had a great time linking up with fellow runners. One of the gals I met there has become a great running friend and we have even run races together! So, you never know who {Read More}

I’m in! ZOOMA Annapolis 2014

The ZOOMA Annapolis course hates me.  Okay, so that might be a bit dramatic.  But, the rolling hills, the bridge and the temperatures had it in for me last year and I even ran close to a personal worst.  Maybe I’m a glutton for punishment but I am heading back to Annapolis in 2014.  The third time is a charm, right? So with that being said, yes, I’m out for a redemption run in 2014. {2012 and 2013 race recaps {Read More}

ZOOMA Swag 2013

Last year I devoted a post to ZOOMA 2012 swag and it still gets page views every time a ZOOMA event is on the horizon.  Runners like to know that their race entry fee is going to come back to them in the form of swag.  And, I have to say, that ZOOMA know how to make a runner happy with all of their fantastic ZOOMA Swag. Here is the 2013 swag that I received at ZOOMA Annapolis! Before the race, tech t-shirts and {Read More}

Race Recap: ZOOMA Annapolis 2013

    I can’t believe that this race happened over a month ago.  I think I delayed this post since I had such a great time being an ambassador and meeting so many great folks through ZOOMA!  Hello post-race blues!  Well, that plus moving!   So let’s cut to the chase…  Saturday morning, I woke up early to make sure that I was at the start of the ZOOMA Annapolis Half Marathon.  First things first, I went to the porta-potties.  {Read More}
