Got out early (for me) this morning. It was still HUMID! I guess I just need to suck it up and get used to this Maryland weather already. From living in the northeast until my twenties and then heading to Texas, I just can not get used to this feeling of having sweat popping up for no reason other than standing outside. Anyway, I went for a short easy run because I have ZOOMA Annapolis this weekend! I was {Read More}

Here are a couple of FUN photos from our Anniversary trip to Austin! We had tons of fun hanging out with old friends, eating way too much amazing food, drinking lots of tasty cocktails and soaking up some sun! Until Next Time Austin, Lisa
Sunday’s Run - May 27, 2012
Sunday I went for another run while in Austin. Again, lots of drinks and an amazing dinner with old friends made it incredibly difficult to get out of bed in the morning. Somehow I managed to get lucky and hit another overcast morning. Too bad I was completely sidetracked by the most amazing event ever and didn’t start my run on time. When Jake and I got to the park, the Doggie Du Dash was just starting. As part {Read More}
Friday’s Run - May 25, 2012
After an indulgent Anniversary on Thursday, Jake and I set out for a run on the trails around Lady Bird Lake the next morning. Love that skyline! I was so thankful that there was some cloud cover because it sure was hot and humid. I also felt really sluggish (maybe something to do with the wine and cupcakes the night before?!) but was super happy to be out running on the trails. Miles: 3.2Time: 29:05Pace: 9:05 I’m very proud of {Read More}
Optimistic
Since I am so far off my training plan, I decided to wing it and see how a 6 mile run on the treadmill would feel today. It could not have gone any better. For the first 2 miles, I challenged myself by running on a bit of an incline at around a 9:15 min/mile pace. Annapolis has a lot of brutal inclines, or so I have been warned, so I figured the incline was a must for the treadmill. {Read More}
Weekend Recap 5/19-5/20
While the hubby was living at the library this weekend, finishing up his final papers for grad school, I was left to my own devices with the bean. You want me to sit here for how long Mom? That means I had to go running with Cora in the jogger. I mean, I don’t mind taking her with me, I just am far less productive on my runs than I like to be because she doesn’t last longer than a {Read More}
Race Recap: Mother’s Day 10k
Image Via Team RWB Mother’s Day morning Jake and I ran in honor of Team RWB at the annual Lightfoot Runners Club Mother’s Day 10k in my hometown of Norwalk, Connecticut. And remember, you can still donate to TEAM RWB on my page! We got to the beach plenty early. Jake and I got our bibs and t-shirts before warming up a little bit. I also visited the bathroom FOUR times before the race. All of the travel and commotion from {Read More}
A Mother’s Day Fit for a Runner
I was spoiled on Mother’s Day with a heap of running related gifts! Jake and Cora got me a new foam roller! And a few new pairs of my favorite Experia socks. My mother-in-law got me the cutest little sneaker charm for my Pandora bracelet. When we got home to Maryland, I had a bunch of cards in the mail! I was definitely feeling the mommy love! My friend Niki sent me my favorite Mother’s Day card — I just {Read More}
Next up! A 10k for TEAM RWB
The Mother’s Day 10k in Norwalk, Connecticut will be the first time that I am running as an athlete for TEAM RED, WHITE, AND BLUE. Image Via TEAM RWB As a military spouse and social worker, becoming an athlete and fundraiser for TEAM RWB made perfect sense. Team RWB is dedicated to supporting wounded veterans and their families as they are transforming the way wounded vets are reintegrated into society. It is comforting to know that there are amazing organizations, like Team {Read More}
Thursday’s Run - May 10, 2012
FOUR days off. Yep. You read that right. FOUR. Anyway, I am not going to go self loathing on you since I was just plain old preoccupied with other life happenings and travel. Sometimes running has to take a backseat to life. At least things are definitely on the upswing! After a slammed day of work, I went for a GREAT run. It felt so amazing to be out in the sun today. Joggermom Marathon Run #4 (11.2 to go!) {Read More}
