On the Road Again!

I will be taking in this amazing view by tomorrow morning. Today we are heading to one of our favorite places… Maine!!

Fundraising?

So I missed the boat on signing up for the Army Ten Miler.  The hubby and I were supposed to remember to sign up on May 1st and May 15th (active duty sign up was open before it was open to the public).  Well, I forgot.  I was in Connecticut for some family stuff and it just wasn’t on my radar. Nuun All Day Every Day

I am one of those people; I don’t drink enough water, even when running.   My friend Niki always makes fun/reminds me of how little water I consume, probably because she is like a camel.  Seriously, I rarely see her without water in hand.  Anyway, as we are running into some pretty hot temps this summer, one of the new products I am in LOVE with is Nuun All Day.  This little tablet packs a tasty punch and helps me drink more {Read More}

Tuesday’s Run - June 26, 2012

The title of this post should really be called, when stroller running ends in a screaming fit.  The afternoon started out well at Lake Artemesia.  We had plenty of toys, books, snacks, and drinks for the ride.  Cora seemed comfortable in the jogger and I set out on my run.  We finished the first loop (1.5 miles) with a couple pits stops for snacks and a book exchange.  I thought about going for a second loop but since she was {Read More}

Athleta Love!

This may be shocking but I have never purchased anything from Athleta.  I LOVE drooling over their e-mails and dog ear the catalog but never make the splurge and commit to a purchase.  That ended this weekend when my mother-in-law surprised me with a serious treat from Athleta!   This skirt has the cutest cut out design! And, I love the re-usable bag and training guide too!  There is even a section on triathlons, if I really get the guts {Read More}

Birthday Partay Planning!

I usually stick to writing about running and fitness related happenings but I can’t help myself here. Cora is turning TWO in September and I am already thinking about her party theme.  More importantly, I am already starting to look at recipes for cupcakes and other tasty treats! Last year, we went with a Very Hungry Caterpillar theme and it was super cute! Chocolate Covered Pretzel Party Favors!  Yummy! I am thinking that a Pete the Cat theme is going to {Read More}

Friday’s Run - June 22, 2012

Being on vacation, or what should be more appropriately called visiting family, has challenged my workout schedule.  Between visiting lots of family and the super high temperatures, running and exercise has been anything but regular.  Friday night, since my mother in law was babysitting Cora, Jake and I took to the streets for a run.  It was actually cool out, thanks to the rain that finally broke the super high temperatures. When we started out, Jake wanted to run at {Read More}

Monday’s Run - June 18, 2012

After an outing for ice cream with Grandma, I definitely needed to squeeze in a run! Since we are visiting family, I was able to run from the house to the park at the beach.  I love being able to run from your house, to your destination, and back to a shower.  There is just something so nice about not having to fuss with driving somewhere before you can go running.   The short, progression run went really smooth.  I {Read More}

Saturday’s Run - June 16, 2012

We are back up in Connecticut for a week visiting with family 🙂 Saturday I had the opportunity to hit up my old high school track with Jake.  Please note, the track was not this beautiful while I was attending; it was a lovely gravel pit when I ran track there.  Oh how far they have come in a decade! To keep with the vibe, I went with an old school quick, effective, track workout. 1×1600 (7:58)REST (2:00)1×400  (1:41)REST  (0:30)1×400 {Read More}

Trail Run = New Obsession

Today was my first official trail run and I think that this may be my next running obsession.  I had an absolute blast! Even got to test out my new Books PureGrit trail shoes! I really wanted to focus on not rolling any ankles, tumbling down hills, or getting caught in the brush, so I went without my iPod.  And I have to say that I think I may be getting the hang of going without headphones.  I just took {Read More}
