Last week, I shared a little bit about the current state of my life and running.  Now that the move is on the horizon, I’m excited to have something other than moving boxes and a new job to focus on in the upcoming months.  Having a race on the calendar also makes me was more likely to continue running through the transition to Kansas.  I talked a little bit about my new training plan and upcoming race events in my last post but here are a few more details about one of the races on my horizon. It’s the latest in Road Runner Sports News!

For my birthday weekend in July, I’m headed out to San Diego for a little relaxation and the Road Runner Sports Craft Classic Half Marathon weekend.  I figured the Craft Classic would be the perfect way to celebrate since it brings the love of running and craft beer together into one day! Plus, this is a new race series, meaning that there are other locations too!  The San Diego Craft Classic races are on July 17th, the Atlanta Craft Classic races are on September 10th, and the Phoenix Craft Classic races are on October 16th!Road Runner Sports Craft Classic

The price for the San Diego Craft Classic Half Marathon from May 1 until June 30 is $95 and the 5k costs $45.  If you would like to join me, please use the discount code ‘Cupcakes’ to receive $10.00 off the half marathon or $5.00 off the 5k races.Road Runner Sports News!

If you are local to San Diego, there are three free sponsored runs hosted by Green Flash Brewery.  The next one is tomorrow, May 4th so don’t delay in purchasing your race entry.  It’s always awesome to have a little extra support to keep you motivated in your training!  For more details on the social and the social runs for the other race locations, stay tuned to the Craft Classic website!

Plus, in more Road Runner Sports news, the Road Runner Sports May Shoe event started yesterday,  May 2nd and runs through May 16th!

Road Runner Sports offers VIP Membership and the current sale offers VIPs 25% off!  When you join the VIP Family, you are guaranteed benefits like the 90-Day Wear ‘em & Love ‘em Shoe Test Run, 10% savings every day, and free shipping! As a frequently shoe buyer, I absolutely love that you can test out running shoes and return them if they just aren’t the right fit for you.  That is a HUGE perk in my opinion, especially since new shoes hit the market so frequently and I am currently in the process of finding my new shoe…. Ugh, it’s hard work when your favorite style gets discontinued.

And, if you aren’t ready to commit to joining the VIP family just yet, you can still save 15% throughout the May Shoe event!

Well, that’s all the Road Runner Sports News I have to share today.  What do you think?  Are you in for the Craft Classic?  Have you ever ordered from Road Runner Sports?  Let me know if you are a VIP!  🙂

  2. Man I wish! I'm eyeing Atlanta though… hmmm. Not sure what the weather would be like though at that point in time. I am a VIP and need to take better advantage!

    • You do! I started buying all my random gear and running shoes through Road Runner. I'm pretty sure I will melt in SD in July! I'm thinking about the Phoenix race as a potential goal race… at least I know I want a race around that weekend. But weather will be a strong factor in my decision since I want to actually try to go for a PR!
