This week started off pretty good. The increase in repetitions has again kicked my butt. I struggled through the first half of the week before meeting with my Tupler physical therapist. We continued to work on various workouts that utilize exercise bands. These workouts are also featured on Julie Tupler’s Lose Your Mummy Tummy DVD. She also took a significant amount of time to review my technique with the contracting and head lift exercises. For me, the head lifts are {Read More}

Sunday’s Run - April 29, 2012
Today I ran a really comfortable 6 miler. Since I am working on not burning myself out at the start, my goal was to keep the first three miles at a 9:00 minute/mile pace. I was able to do just that and then let myself go for the last three miles. At the end, I was tired but I think I still had a lot left in the tank. I guess that is why they call this training! On April 24, 2012, I finished the first six week session of the Tupler Technique® program! So excited!! As promised, here are some photos of this journey…And no, I can’t believe I am posting my post baby belly with stretch marks, excess skin, and crazy diastasis on the internet. But if it gives someone the boost they need to out and try the program, then it is well worth it! Feeling the Longhorn pride during Week #5 🙂 There you have it! {Read More}

The DREAD-Mill
I finished up work with a little time to spare for a short run. But you know what that means, off to the DREAD-mill to crank out a few quick miles. Too bad the legs didn’t really feel like cooperating. I was super tight for the first mile until the legs started to loosen up a bit. Thank goodness because that first mile had me a little worried. Usually I am too slow to catch a treadmill pic… But I {Read More}
Lake Artemesia
Lake Artemesia is my favorite place to run in College Park, MD. This public park has great paved biking/running/walking paths (i.e. I will not get run over while running!). It is the perfect place for my runs since there are also offshoots to other paved trails in the area. The two main paths around the lake, 1.2 mile and 1.4 mile loops, are where I spend the majority of my time running. Today, I brought Cora to Lake Artemesia for {Read More}
Tuesday’s Run - April 24, 2012
I managed to get in my long run since it just didn’t happen on Sunday; you can read about that here. I wasn’t really in the mood to run but it was great weather so that motivated me to get outside and get moving. Good thing I got my butt out there because I did not want to go another week before upping my mileage. Miles: 8Time: 1:10:48Pace: 8:51 This training cycle is going well so far. Only 7 weeks left until Zooma {Read More}
Weekend Recap 4/21-4/22
Two great runs despite lots of rainy weather on my trip this weekend. On Saturday, I planned to go out for an easy 3 miler in prep for my Sunday long run. Well, I ended up running a bit faster than I planned. I just felt really good and running along the beach was oh so nice. Miles: 3.03 Time: 25:37 Pace: 8:27 That being said, Sunday was NOT meant to be a long run day. Cora had trouble sleeping {Read More}
SOLE-lutions
If you are like me, then you probably have a growing collection of old sneakers. A friend that is all about recycling suggested that I look into ways for others to re-use my shoes. Here are a couple cool organizations that collect and recycle running shoes! Talk about an earth friendly SOLE-lution to help empty your closet.
