This week started off pretty good. The increase in repetitions has again kicked my butt. I struggled through the first half of the week before meeting with my Tupler physical therapist. We continued to work on various workouts that utilize exercise bands. These workouts are also featured on Julie Tupler’s Lose Your Mummy Tummy DVD. She also took a significant amount of time to review my technique with the contracting and head lift exercises. For me, the head lifts are really hard to incorporate into my everyday routine because you have to physically lay on the floor. We are planning on meeting again in four weeks because she thinks that given my progress to date, I will be able to close the diastasis in that timeframe. Then the remainder of the program, about 6 weeks, will allow additional time for healing.
Week #7 Measurements:
Top .5 (29.5″)
Middle 1-1.5 (30.5″)
Bottom CLOSED! (32″)
Compare that to Week #5 Measurements:
Top 1 (30″)
Middle 2 (30.5″)
Bottom .5 (32″)
Compare that to Week #2 Measurements:
Top 2 (30.25″)
Middle 3 (32.25″)
Bottom 1 (32″)
Compare that back to Week #1 Measurements:
Top 4 (31.5″)
Middle 5 (34.5″)
Bottom 2 (32″)
Meeting with her is always great and she typically gives me the boost I need to continue on until our next visit. Not the case this time as the rest of the week went downhill from there. To be honest, there were several days that I did not do the exercises. I don’t know if it is because I am overwhelmed by the amount of time that the sets are taking me or if I just lost motivation. What I do know is that I need to get back on the bandwagon if I want to continue to heal the diastasis.
My goal for the next week is to complete all of the contracting exercises and at least two (of the three) sets of the head lifts per day. Since I am barely getting in one set of the head lifts per day, I think this is a pretty lofty goal. But again, if I want to close the diastasis and give it time to heal over the last half of this program, I have to do it!

Time to get serious with this Tupler thing again!

I LOVE quotes! Here's a good one from Eleanor Roosevelt, "You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear (pain) in the face… You must do the thing you think you cannot do." Simple but SO true, and I am proud of you for all that you've accomplished in such a short time, Lis!
Thanks Kim! Love the quote
Congratulations! So this really works? I feel like this program would be perfect for me and I'm trying to figure out if the Tupler program is legit. Thanks!Christina
Hi Christina! it does work. I ended up not keeping up with the posts and stopped the program around Week 10. It ended up being too time consuming for me. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me an e-mail. I can try and answer some of your questions
I’m impressed that you made it to week 10! You had great results! I am on day 2, and it is not easy. Did you lose all your progress when you stopped wearing the splint? I am really afraid of that happening.
