Post Race BLISS

The runDisney Princess Half Marathon definitely offers a very unique after party experience.  After crossing the finish line, volunteers are eagerly waiting for you.  Their congratulatory remarks as they place your medal around your neck make you feel like you just won the race.  Every runners is treated like royalty; that is not something that you can say about every race.  I even received a final dose of magical pixie dust!  Trust me, I needed it!

After I received my Princess Half medal, I beelined straight to the Coast to Coast medal tent.  They quickly cut off my Coast to Coast bracelet and placed the medal around my neck!  I was thrilled!  After all, that bling helped me cross the finish line.

I also made a pit stop for some ibuprofen and ice.  The medical aid tent offered me an extra bag of ice and wrapped my knee very quickly.  They were so attentive to the needs of the runners!  From there, the runner’s filed through a few lines and tents for photos, food, drinks and the baggage check area.

I made quick business of it so that I could link up with my family!  Last year I didn’t have anyone waiting for me at the finish line and let me just tell you it was AWESOME having my cheerleaders there this year.

As the runDisney DJ was music blasting, there were opportunities for the runners and their families to meet and have photo opportunities a variety of Disney Princesses.  This year, Jasmin, Ariel, Snow White, and Rapunzel hugged thousands of sweaty post race princesses.  I was thrilled to have to opportunity to introduce Cora to Ariel and Snow White.

There were also plenty of food vendors, beer and champagne (although it was super pricey!), and a runDisney merchandise tent.  I was so happy to have the chance to pick up the runDisney Princess Half Marathon pin that I didn’t have a chance to grab at the Expo!  We really enjoyed the post race atmosphere as we chatted, stretched, and waited for our friends to gather at our meeting spot.
