To start off the new year, I wrote a post about my goals for the year. I wanted to update you all on my progress and set some new goals for myself as we head into the summer.
In January, my goal was to beat my standing PR of 2:00:30. Since then, I have beat this PR with a time of 01:58:46 at the Tinker Bell Half. Then, I beat that PR at the RNR USA with a time of 01:58:37.
Goal #2. RUN A NEW HALF MARATHON PR:
My target race is still ZOOMA Annapolis and I have high hopes of another PR.
Goal #3. RUN A RELAY:
Relay racing is a bucket list goal for me; although, I have always thought it would become addicting. I suppose that is why I never put it on an immediate goal list of mine. But, this year, when Nuun announced that they would be accepting applications for an all NEW female blogging team for Hood to Coast, I could not resist putting my hat in the ring. I feel so lucky to be selected as one of twenty lady bloggers to tackle this challenge with Nuun. I see a lot of hill training in my future and I certainly want to build my mileage comfortably over the summer.
Goal #4. RUN A MARATHON:
A few weeks ago, I also signed up for the Marine Corps Marathon, my first marathon. I am excited and scared to tackle a new distance. Right now, I am looking to slowly build my mileage and I am interested in finding the best training plan to help me successfully cross the finish in October. I’m thinking Hood to Coast training is going to pair perfectly with this goal.
Who knew this year was going to have so many twists and turns?? And, it’s only April! How are you doing with your goals from the start of the New Year?! Any new resolutions on the table?
Lisa
