This week has been very busy and fun! Aside from MCM ’13, I’m leaving my current job based out of DC, so I planned my last days of work around marathon weekend. Crazy? Maybe. I just like to think that it saved me another trip to DC. Plus, now that I had my last day of work on Thursday, I have a week off between my old job and my new job! WIN! One week to be completely lazy post-marathon and catch up on odds and ends around the house, before I re-enter the world of working from an actual office.
So, this also means, that IT IS MARATHON WEEKEND! I have moments where I am really calm and moments where I freak the heck out. While handling my work business, staying with my best friend Niki helped keep me very distracted! Then yesterday, at the Expo, I met up with a couple running friends and that definitely helped put me at ease.
ReNUUNion with my Nuun teammates from Hood to Coast, Jenny & Megan!
But last night, I spent the night at the hotel near the race and my mind started going crazy! Good thing I have Jake and Cora driving down to DC today to help keep me distracted again until the race tomorrow!
Lisa

This will be addicting! Nothing compares to the feeling of crossing your first marathon, so savor that moment! Save your tears for after the finish line… you will need that moisture to keep you hydrated along course 😉 Love you Lis! Wish I were there with you! Go get em!
Thank you Lisa! You are always such an amazing support!
I was a wreak before the Goofy Challenge (which was also my first full). However, the training had gone well (and yours has been great) so there really is no reason to be freaked out. You will have a great time and just be sure to keep calm the first few miles…..the adrenalin will be there and holding back is really important those first few miles! Most of all, have fun Lisa!
