I haven’t participated in the Friday Five link up in a while… too long in fact! So, this week is all about my favorite winter activities!
With winter temps here to stay for a while, there are very few things that will draw me out of the house and into the cold. Running is one of those things. I love going for a run outside after a fresh layer of snow is on the ground. It’s typically a beautiful sight and very peaceful.
Like I mentioned, I like to stay indoors during the winter. I really enjoy baking and filling the house with wonderful smells and my belly with tasty treats.
One of my favorite things to do is snuggle up with a good book. Since having my daughter, finding moments to read has become a bit more challenging. It’s something I hope to work on a bit in the New Year. Less computer surfing and more reading is definitely in order.
And, let’s be honest. You can’t really snuggle up with a good book without a cup of coffee in hand. Decaf or regular, it’s just the idea of having something warm to sip on for me!
Lastly, I love to use the winter months to catch up on life and get organized. If I’m stuck indoors I might as well be productive…from cleaning closets, to catching up on blog posts, and creating running training plans. This way, I can use those wonderfully warm months to be outside!
There you have it. That wraps up my favorite winter activities!
Thanks for the opportunity to join your Friday Five linkup Mar, Cynthia, and Courtney!
Tell me, what’s your favorite winter activity?
Lisa

Of course! I love linking up when I have time to plan ahead! Maybe my new plan to keep my blog calendar separate from my life calendar will help with this in the New Year!

Yes, just need to find more time for reading and less time getting sucked in to social media!
Ahhh coffee. I love coffee anytime of year but especially when it's cold out. I just started reading that book Run Less Run Faster. So far I like it.
I like the book but the paces are certainly a little overwhelming… I'm not sure if it would be a good fit for me.
Ooh… The Happiness Project… I really liked that book. Catching up on reading is definitely a great thing for Winter.
The Happiness Project is such a great read!
Oh, those cookies look good! Love the smell of fresh baked cookies. I like to still run in the Winter too.
It's my favorite sugar cookie recipe… Not too sweet, just right!
Love curling up with a good book (and I spy Brene Brown in your pile…she's awesome!)

I'm a social worker by day and Brene is my social work hero! I love, love, love her work!
I don't like the winter! It is too cold. But i like making sugar cookies during the holidays! I need that book: Run Less Run Faster!! 🙂
I don't like the winter either but it makes me appreciate the spring a whole lot more by the time it rolls around!
I am right there with you! Yae for getting projects done and good reads through the winter 🙂
My husband made fun of me for writing that getting organized was one of my favorite things to do in the winter. But, it's the best time to do it and get it out of the way!
I second taking the time to get organized and working on indoor projects. I also love to bake during the winter.
