Just about a month ago, I participated in my very first Thinking Out Loud post with Running with Spoons. This week, I decided to play along again and fill you in on what is going on in my neck of the woods lately!
1.) Running is getting much better! I don’t have any issues with my hamstring or piriformis. I think that may have something to do with keeping my mileage low. I haven’t gone for a run over four miles and have limited myself to three runs a week. Lately, I’m spending a little more time on my yoga mat and stretching too. I still need to figure out a way to get more cross training into my life… I feel like that it an ongoing battle though!
2.) The holidays are in full swing! Last week, we had three holiday parties. One of those parties was at my work. We host the entire community for a holiday reception and meet and greet with Santa. This is my second year playing Santa’s helper and all that running gear in my closet double well as an elf costume! It’s probably the most fun day at work all year!
3.) My eating is crap, crap, crap lately. I seriously need to get a better handle on my diet. The biggest culprits are sweets and booze… shocking, right?! Anyway, I need to figure out a way to get a grip and say no. It’s just so darn hard with ALL the holiday festivities.
4.) Decorating is done and our tree is up! This took a little extra patience this year. The darn tree did not want to stay in the upright position. Thankfully, it is now secured to the WALL. Yes, we had to go there because it could not be trusted. I think that a new tree stand is in order for next year. No more heart attacks over falling trees for me next year!
5.) I’m looking forward to a few getaways at the end of the month. Maine and Florida trips are on the calendar and I can’t wait to spend time visiting with family, catching up, and doing a little relaxing!
I just can’t believe how quickly the weeks are flying by right now. I’m doing my best to try to make sure I slow down enough to enjoy the holidays and the little moments.
What are you looking forward to in December? Has anyone else had a tree fiasco? Solutions or tricks to avoid eating ALL the holiday goodie?
Lisa
