Review and Giveaway: Actio926 Activewear

Back in high school, you could catch me running in cotton old track meet t-shirts, mesh shorts and whatever sneakers I received for Christmas. These days, I like to add bold colors and prints, wear running skirts, and I own far more moisture wicking gear than I would like to admit. It’s thanks to women like Actio926‘s owner, Stephanie Radkay, that women’s athletic apparel continues to evolve into the ever growing industry it is today.

It’s incredible to think that since 2012, Radkay has created the Actio926 line of apparel as a tribute to her late mother’s passion for fashion design. After the passing of her mother, Radkay was stunned to discover a hidden talent of her mother… wonderfully hand painted watercolors abandoned by her mother in part due to the criticism of her professors. As Radkay also struggled to find her way during this period, she revealed:

With that being said, to me Radkay is the definition of taking action to make change! The word “actio” is Latin for action, and the number 926 also serve as a tribute to her mother. With the support of her husband, Mike, Radkay’s vision to combine fashion with fitness continues to grow. Radkay is absolutely committed to her craft as both a designer and athlete:

When looking through the Actio926 website, to say the Rock the Course Legging in the Parade print are eye-catching is an understatement! They are the perfect example of having the opportunity to be fashionable while working out. I receive tons of comments whenever I wear these pants! These leggings are a comfortable blend of 92% nylon and 8% spandex and retail at $98.00 per pair. One of my favorite features the leggings offer is a thick waistband, which is perfect for running. I like to make sure that I have a good amount of fabric in the waistband area so that I can comfortably wear a fuelbelt or SpiBelt without any chaffing!

I paired the Rock the Course Leggings with the Own the Draft Long Sleeved Shirt. Compared to other moisture wicking shirts on the market, I really liked the unique design of this shirt, particularly the scooped neckline. The Own the Draft Long Sleeve Shirt is a blend of 93% nylon and 7% spandex and retails at $85.00. For a shirt that appears to be mesh, it is incredibly soft against the skin. My two favorite features of this shirt are the thumbholes and the neckline. Again, Actio926 adds a bit of a twist to your traditional gear by incorporating bold prints and sleek design elements.
