So, today, I broke the internet. At least, I broke my small piece of the internet. Behind the scenes here at Lisa Runs for Cupcakes, I could not access my site. Thanks to Mar, she let me know that the world was still able to see things. So, after a few hours of help from my host, RFE hosting, life was back to normal and I can access my blog! Normally, this would probably not even bother me but since I had the day off work, I had grand plans to catch up on the blogosphere. That just didn’t happen!
Life around these parts has been great but busy the past few weeks. After getting home from California, we celebrated Cora’s Fourth Birthday with friends and family.
I also have a lot going on at work these days. I don’t often say much about being a social worker but I will share that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, a very big deal to me and my position. On the 1st of the month, we hosted a walk and displayed my, “Behind Closed Doors” exhibit. I was really pleased with our community outreach. Yet, the perfectionist in me is already trying to figure out how I can reach more people next year!
And, in other news, I finally broke down and deferred my entry into the New York City Marathon.
After going to the doctor yesterday and trying to sort out what is going on with the left side of my body, I figured it was a good idea to just settle that score. It’s honestly such a relief to finally put that to rest. Plus, in good/bad news, I will be starting physical therapy for my hamstring. I’m hopeful that this will finally put me on the road to recovery and a future of happy and healthy running.
So, that about brings you up to speed on the life of Lisa. What’s going on in your neck of the woods?

I completely understand the need to Defer. I finally have given in and am deferring as well. I have battled hamstring, glute and piriformis issues for three months. I remained hopeful that I would recover through PT and so did my PT. However, it is not happening. God has a plan and He will see us through this.
Sounds like we are having some of the same issues. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you! Here's to hoping 2015 is our year for NYC!
Glad you got your site back up!! I was like, I have no idea what you're talking about 🙂 You're doing the right thing and I wish you well on the road to recovery and long term health and running!
My recent post Week 15: Motivation (+ a Giveaway!)
Thanks friend! And, thanks for helping me through my "glitch"!
Great family photo!! Super cute! I think it was a wise decision that you deferred!! Next year will be epic! Are you going to be cheering? or did you hear about the Nuun shake out run?
