I’m back after a whirlwind weekend at Walt Disney World! I’m so thankful for the weekend of warm weather with my family. But, now, it’s back to the the work grind and some freezing weather.
I am so happy to report that I raced! Despite a rough February of training, I managed to race this weekend. I ran the Enchanted 10k on Saturday. Then Cora and I ran the 200m Kid’s Race together shortly after the 10k. Then, to top it off, I completed the Glass Slipper Challenge when Jake and I tackled the Princess Half Marathon on Sunday! There is honestly nothing quite like running these races with the people you love most!
We also conquered Cora’s first roller coaster! For the record, she hated the Barnstormer but loved Thunder Mountain. Go figure!
And, we met a lot of Princesses and characters along the way!
We had such a blast this weekend and will share our experiences of the Disney Princess Enchanted 10k, the Princess Half Marathon, and the 200m Kid’s Race with you all soon!
Have you visited Disney? If you love runDisney, what’s your favorite race weekend? Who else is so over winter?
Lisa

Welcome back to the world of winter wonderland!! SO happy for that you had an amazing weekend! My "bucket" race in Disney would still be the Wine and Dine Half marathon in November!
My recent post Winter Snow and Running Lately
Yes! Jake and I were just talking about Wine and Dine. It won't happen for us this year but maybe in 2016!
It looks like you had a great time and enjoyed Disney! I volunteered at the expo on Thursday and had a blast! I am happy we had some good weather for your visit! Hang in there- winter can't last forever!
My recent post Movies that inspire!
That taste of warmth from Florida was amazing. And, much needed! Thanks for volunteering! RunDisney seriously has some of the best race volunteers.
Welcome back, it looks like you had the best of both worlds, a vacation and some races with the people you love most! I haven't raced at Disney but I'd love to do the Wine & Dine there, it looks like a blast!
Wine and Dine is definitely on my list of must-run races. I think the evening race is far more appealing than the 3:00am wake up call for the Disney morning races.
So happy to hear that you had a wonderful weekend at Disney, complete with races and Cora's first roller coaster experience. I love runDisney races, and can't wait to register for Wine and Dine!
My recent post Tuesdays on the Run: Motivation
I have my eye on Wine and Dine for 2016!
Princess was my first half marathon and the weekend is still special even though I haven't been back to repeat yet.
My recent post Snow Day with Allie
It's special to us too. Princess is the only race we go to at Disney World. I ran Tink and the Disneyland Half out in CA in 2013. I need to expand and run another FL race!
Huge Disney World and runDisney fan here! I ran Wine & Dine in 2013 for my first half marathon. I'm hoping to do the full in January and someday run Princess. I'm going on a cruise in April and can't wait to run the Castaway Cay 5k again! Looking forward to your recaps
I would really love to run the Castaway Cay 5k one of these years. RunDisney is just such a fun race experience and a great way to get people that don't necessarily run to buy into training. And, from there, they get hooked!
Lisa, so fun and congrats on the race.

Thanks so much! It was a blast!
Congratulations to you and your family for running the runDisney races! I cannot wait till I can do the same! I am so over winter already! We had a beautiful week last week with the temps in the 70's! Now, they're in the teens! I just want to go back to wearing my flip flops already!
My recent post WDW Deluxe Resort-Animal Kingdom Lodge
I know! My daughter even asked me… "Can we live in Florida? I want to wear shorts and t-shirts all the time." I feel her pain this winter!
Congrats on racing this past weekend. I love going to Disney but I haven't been for a number of years now. I'm over winter and ready for summer!
Thanks! Racing at Disney is a blast if you ever have the opportunity to register for one of their races.
Glad you had an amazing time depite a few traveling hiccups. I can't wait to do a run Disney race! Better start saving now!
My recent post I Feel….Fat Tuesday
Traveling there was an absolute nightmare. I'm still bummed I missed the expo and didn't get my race shirts. But, at least I was able to enjoy the parks, run the races, and get those beautiful medals! What's up next on your race schedule?!
I've only been to Disney once about 20 years ago. Glad you guys had so much fun!
My recent post BODYpeace Series
Thanks! It was a blast! I miss the sun.
Ohh how fun! I have never been apart of Run Disney, but oh my gosh it always looks like a blast! Racing a roller coasters, what more could anyone want?!
It's such a fun race weekend! Exhausting with all of the early morning wake up calls if you are running multiple races. But, those kinds of weekends are definitely run on adrenaline!
What a fun trip! I want to go to Disney World so bad along with doing a Run Disney race. I'm trying to talk the husband into it though. He's not a fan. I'm glad you had a fun trip. Your daughter is adorable.
If my husband can run the Princess Half every year, you can certainly convince your husband to run one of the less girly races
My first half marathon was at Disney World. I loved it!!!! Disney puts on a nice race. My husband completed the Goofy Challenge, which I hope to do some time in the next few years.
My recent post Ponya Bands: Hair & Sweat Bands Review & Discount Code!
Kudos to your husband. I don't know if I could handle those super early mornings four days in a row. Seriously, that is what holds me back! I have a hard time doing two events in a row.
What a fun weekend! I have done Tower of Terror in 2013 and the Marathon in January. Both were great. Our little guy loves the Disney Kids' Races, too. I need to get him back down there for a 5K at some point.
Glad you had a great time!
My recent post mcfarland usa - a review
My daughter ran the 100m last year and the 200m this year. Honestly, I think she is itching to do a longer distance but I want her to have fun so I play it safe and keep the distances short! I want to try another runDisney FL event one year!
Such cute pictures! I'm a total newb. I had no idea there were Disney related race events prior to a very short time ago. It looks like so much fun and would be absolutely perfect for family.
My recent post Friday Finds 2-20-15
It's the perfect way to include my family. They get a kick out of joining me and running too!
I love that picture of you and your daughter on the roller coaster! Great candid.
I have been to Disneyland many times but never Disneyworld. I'd like to fly over to Orlando before my kids become teens so we can go there and all of the other parks. It's incredible to me that there are so many amusement parks in Orlando.
I've never run a Disney race, but I would love to do the Wine & Dine one day! My daughter wants me to run the Disneyland Half and take her.
My recent post Weekend Update
I ran the Disneyland Half last year and the race was great! For me the races at Disneyland seemed lower stress than the ones at Disney World. I like how everything at Disneyland is much closer together and involves less time on transportation getting there.
Sounds like a lovely weekend! I so want to do a RunDisney race at some point - they look like the most fun!
Love the roller coaster pic
My recent post Runching 101
Definitely a ton of fun and great to run with friends or family!
My family loves Disney! We go as often as we can and thank goodness we all love to ride just about everything! I honestly didn't know there were so many races being run at the Disney parks. Looks like you had a blast!
Running there is a great excuse to visit. We try to go once a year! If only we lived a little closer and were able to go more often!
I could not agree more, running races with the people you love the most is the absolute best. At the Princess Weekend I had to settle for my boys and hubby greeting me at the finish line, still awesome but not quite as sweet. My baby boys smoke me in 5ks now soon 10ks.
I have a feeling I am not too far off from my daughter smoking me in 5ks! The time goes by way too fast
I have never been to Disney, but it looks like so much fun! I am sick of this winter!!
I can't believe it is now March and the snow is still falling! Spring seems so far away!
Welcome back! (It must have been so hard to leave! ._.) Thunder Mountain was my favorite roller coaster too!
I've never done a Disney race, but kinda have been thinking about picking up running again just so I can do that!
My recent post Make It Or Break It
You definitely should. They are a really different and fun race experience! You can always start with one of their 5ks.
Congrats on a great weekend. I have never run any races at Disney and I can't say that I plan to! I do have my faves though and love running them with friends. I wish I could get the Husband to run with me.

Thanks to Disney, I have been able to get my husband on board with me! Now, he hopes to run his first marathon this fall.
That is awesome! I wish I could get my husband on board. He ran 2 miles with me in January!

What a fun weekend! I have never run a Disney race and I just can't justify the cost. Add a hotel and park tickets? My husband will leave me! Haha! Glad you had fun though.

Too funny! We try to eliminate costs by staying off property and we get a great discount on tickets thanks to the military offerings that are available.
Running with family is awesome! Your daughter will cherish those moments forever, trust me. I remember almost every time my dad took me to let me run with him!
Visiting Disney would be fabulous, seriously! I was just looking at the Disney 60th anniversary ad today, and realized the last time I visited was during their 50th anniversary.. a bit too long:)

10 years is far too long! I enjoy running these races with her more than the rest of the weekend's events. I hope she remembers these races fondly because I know I will!
I've been to Disney a million times but never with MY kids, I can't wait for that! So glad you were able to race this weekend!!

Yes, I'm happy with the way the races turned out. I pushed it a little in the 10k to see what the legs had in them. Then I took it easy on the half since my legs were pretty smoked.
Congrats on the race, I love that pic on the roller coaster!!

It was so much fun! Thanks!
You are too cute! So glad you had a great weekend and successful races. My husband and I havebt run together in at least 5 years. Im jealous!

I went to Disneyland when I was a kid and loved every single second of it. I think my favorite ride was Pirates of the Caribbean.

Pirates is such a great ride!
FUNNN!!!! I love runDisney races! I've only been able to do the half at Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend so far but would like to at least do Wine and Dine and the Disneyland Paris Half Marathon too!
I can't believe they announced the Paris race at the start of the Princess Half! That would be amazing!
Awesome!!! I have never done a Disney race but one day I think it would be fun to do!
You totally should! They are a lot of fun when you have race buddies there with you!
I am glad you were able to do the races even though you weren't feeling well. That is a fantastic picture on the roller coaster.

My hubby snapped the photo on the roller coaster. I love it too, especially since my daughter's hands are in the air. And, I'm thankful my body held up for the races!
That picture of you and Cora on the rollercoaster is fantastic. And glad to hear that your training woes didn't stop you from racing!
Thanks! I pushed it during the 10k and took it easy for the half. I am so happy things worked out!
Love these photos of your sweet family! So so glad we got to hang out! It snowed 6-7 inches here today. When is summer?!
