When it comes to living a healthy lifestyle, the one area in my life where I really struggle is nutrition. I mean, I know what I should eat, but heck, this blog is called Lisa Runs for Cupcakes for a reason. Aside from struggling with my sweet tooth, I also find it challenging to prepare healthy lunches. If I don’t take the time to prepare on the weekends, I often times make poor lunch choices during the work week. One of the ways, I get around the food prep is by purchasing pre-packaged food items or salads. This too is tricky because you have to seriously check out your ingredient lists.
I recently received the opportunity to try Fresh n’ Lean, a healthy meal delivery service. I decided to give it a try because when I looked at the online ingredient lists, everything is organic, vegan, and delivery fresh to your doorstep to avoid the need for preservatives. My package arrived as scheduled in a cooler box with ice packs. Each meal was provided in a sealed container with an easy to read ingredient list and nutrition facts. I will admit that on first glance, I was not impressed. I suppose that when food gets shipped across the country, there is no way to make it look as though it was fresh from the stove. Thankfully, I was more than happily surprised with their products and looks can definitely be deceiving. These meals were incredibly flavorful and fresh!
Below you can take a look at the some of items that I tested out. My favorite meal was the Garbanzo and Sweet Potato Curry. The Mixed Berry Chia Pudding, Cinnamon Date Oatmeal, and the Hearty Granola were provided for breakfast. I split up the other meals between lunches and dinner. I received the Garbanzo and Sweet Potato Curry, Cumin and Yellow Pepper Lentils, Potato and Portobello Mushroom Sauce, White Beans and Black Kale, and the Balboa Rice Bowl. I have to say that the flavors in the entrees were fantastic and this is likely where I would make my purchases in the future, especially since I struggle to find different vegan dinner options.

Wow, what a great idea! I really struggle on my double workout days. By the time I get home from work and do my 2nd session it is almost 8PM and I usually make a sandwich because I don't have time for anything else. I will check this out!
