#ShareBeauty with Suave this Veteran’s Day

It’s hard to believe that five years ago, I was preparing for two major life events, the birth of my daughter and the deployment of my husband. Unfortunately, those events were set to coincide with one another. Thankfully, my husband was able to stay behind and rejoin his squadron two weeks after the birth of our daughter, Cora. I’m still so grateful that we had those two weeks and that I was able to have Jake there in the hospital to support our newly expanded family. But, saying goodbye to him was one of the hardest moments I have experienced as a military spouse. To keep Jake involved, I made it a priority to send as many videos and photos as I could. I also remember getting home from work in the afternoon and immediately hopping on Skype in order for Cora to see Jake and hear his voice.

After nine months of separation, our family was finally reunited. And, given my husband’s current career path, we have not had to face a deployment since those days. Yet, there are still families out there that continue to experience separations and deployments.

So, this Veteran’s Day, I want to thank my husband for his service to our country and for working hard to keep our crazy family together as he continues on in his military career.

This Veteran’s Day, I also want to challenge you to stop and think about the Veterans in your life. And, if you don’t have a Veteran in your circle of family or friends, that doesn’t mean that you can’t help our military service members.
