At the end of December, I received the Sportline Women’s SOLO 965 Heart Rate + Pedometer to review courtesy of Sportline.
The advertised features of the SOLO 965 include:
+ Any-Tough Heart Rate
+ FitTrac: Resting Heart-Rate Tracker
+ Caloric Genuis: 24 Hour Calorie-Burn Tracking
+ MoveTrac: Records Your Every Move 24 Hours a Day
+ Steps + Distance + Speed
+ Water-Resistant to 50 Meters
After using this watch for a month of training, here are my pros and cons.
PROS:
+ Retails for $99.00.
+ The women’s model is very small and sleek, especially compared to my Garmin 405.
+ Easy to use backlight for those runs in the dark.
+ Very easy setup and instructions have you using your watch in no time.
+ There is no chest strap to fiddle with or cause chafing.
+ Accurate tracking of steps, distance, and speed when compared against my Garmin/treadmill.
+ Timer and stopwatch mode are very useful for interval training.
+ A great tool for tracking your steps and total calorie burn for those looking to monitor this closely.
CONS:
+ FitTrac often activated in the locked mode. This means that you are unable to see your screen until your heart rate is tracked again or the FitTrac timed out.
+ I am unsure as to the accuracy of the FitTrac option since it often times out during the reading.
+ To obtain your current heart rate while working out, you have to physically touch the heart rate sensor until it gives you a reading. I found this to be difficult to use while on the move and the biggest downside of the watch for me. I would love it if it automatically read and displayed your heart rate throughout your workout.
A big thanks to Sportline for allowing me to review this product. I hope that you found this to be a helpful review if you are in the market for a budget friendly heart rate monitor.

Note: I received the SOLO 965 Heart Rate Monitor + Pedometer from Sportline in exchange for a product review. All opinions are my own and I was not required to give a positive review of the item.

I was just researching the MIO ALPHA the other day. It's $199 and has continuous heart rate display, Just FYI
Hmm, I've been wanting to get one of these. I have one but I have no clue how to use it and no clue where the manual is. Total waste of money! I need an idiot proof one.
