Peaks and Valleys: Adventures in Training Week 3 & 4

Peaks and Valleys: Adventures in Training Week 3 & 4

It’s time for me to share Peaks and Valleys: Adventures in Training Week 3 & 4, my second series of training logs from 2015. You can find the recap of my first two weeks back in the running game here. It’s nice to slowly get back in the swing of things with no pressure and no focus on speed. My goal right now is to just slowly build back up my mileage. Week 3 - January 12-18 Monday: I slipped and on {Read More}

Peaks and Valleys: Adventures in Training Week 1 & 2

Peaks and Valleys: Adventures in Training Week 1 & 2

This year, I decided I want to get back to the roots of my blog. I originally started this little corner of the web to hold myself accountable to my training goals and plans. While my plans for the year are still a work in progress, one of my goals for the year is to regularly post my training progress, even if some weeks are better than others. Skirt Sports Snake Charmer

NYC Marathon Training Week 9 and 10 are in the books and I’m a little delayed on posting my recap! I can finally say that I am having a bit of an upswing in training! Making a Comeback

Comeback 11

Making a comeback from 8 weeks of no running is challenging and frustrating at times. I want to run at the paces I saw in training for Marine Corps Marathon but my body just isn’t there yet. And, despite getting frustated at times, I know that this is what is best for my longevity in the sport. So, here are my three tips on making a comeback! 1.) SLOWLY Build Mileage: I’m building back my mileage at a turtle’s pace. I’m a month {Read More}

Excuses and a Long Run

It’s Monday again.And I have had a really tough time making running a priority the past two weeks. Here is my list of excuses in no particular order: 1.  Work 2.  Hubby out of the country for a week 3.  Babysitter unavailable while hubby was out of town (apparently it was sorority rush week or something like that.. boo!) 4.  Sick child 5.  Sick child resulted in a now sick mommy and daddy Result:  Low Mileage + Sick Lisa = {Read More}
